Archives Week is around the corner and Making the Future will be taking over PRONI to showcase all the great work produced by our community engagement participants over the last three years.

MONDAY - 22 November
Archiving COVID: Ordinary People and Stay Home Memories 1803
1pm on Zoom — Join us for a Zoom presentation exploring the experiences and memories of the COVID-19 pandemic by local people and communities that have been archived at PRONI.

Border Sounds VR Experience
3pm at PRONI — Book your place to view our immersive new virtual reality (VR) film Border Sounds using a full VR kit. View the sights and sounds of the Irish Border as told by the people who live there.

Making the Future on Screen: A Film Festival (Shorts Programme 1)
7pm at the Strand Cinema — Watch 15 short documentaries made by women or about women exploring themes such as farming, lace-making, emigration, climate change, heritage, and family history.

WEDNESDAY - 24 November
Photo Embroidery Workshop
12pm at PRONI — Join us for a one-hour workshop where you will learn the art of postcard embroidery and help us bring our photographic collections to life in a unique way.

Archi’ve Imagined: Artistic Responses to the Archives
2pm on Zoom — Join us to explore the many ways people have artistically responded to archive material. In partnership with Northern Ireland Screen, there will even be a chance to have a try yourself.

Making the Future on Screen: A Film Festival (Shorts Programme 2)
7pm at the Strand Cinema — Every day is a School Day is a series of ten short documentaries made by a group with varying degrees of sight loss about their experiences of education in Northern Ireland.

Making the Future on Screen: A Film Festival (Shorts Programme 3)
7pm at the Strand Cinema — Watch a series of short films made by young filmmakers inspired by our archives, covering themes such as women's history, conflict, old professions and television archives.

Our Place: An Archive for Everyone
