Take part in this free three day summer camp at the Nerve Centre and learn how to build your own 3D version of the Walls and interact with it using AR and VR technology.
You will learn the basics of virtual design, build your own environment and use coding to make it an interactive space.
You will get out to explore the Derry Walls in a new way, taking part in a fun interactive tour and taking your own 360• photos to upload and play with.
We'll also give you a virtual reality headset so you can view your creation in fully immersive VR!
How will the programme work?
- Take part in face to face workshops at the Nerve Centre and learn how to use dedicated apps to create VR and AR experiences.
- You will use cutting edge technology to develop and animate your own 3D interactive space and view it using your virtual reality headset.
- Meet an expert on the Derry Walls and hear fun new facts about them on an interactive tour.
- You will learn how to take 360• photos and stitch them together to create your own immersive tour of the Derry Walls.
This programme is FREE and open to young people aged 10-15 and based in the Derry City Strabane District Council Area and Donegal.
Workshops take place 24th - 26th August from 10am to 1pm each day.
Places are very limited due to Covid 19 restrictions. Please book early and only if you can guarantee commitment to attendance.
NB For Parents/Guardians:
These workshops will take place in person at the Nerve Centre, 7-8 Magazine Street, BT48 6HJ. You must be able to drop participants to the door for 10am and pick them up again at 1pm sharp.
Participants must bring and wear a face covering for unseated indoor activities and social distancing must be complied with at all times.
Participants should bring their own drinks and snacks for mid-morning break.
All equipment will be provided.
