Take part in a Q&A with talented stakeholders in the music industry discussing how music and mental health are interlinked. Explore how music can be an escape and a channel to express your emotions.

Panel Host: Constance Keane AKA Fears.

Constance Keane is an Irish artist, musician, and producer who performs under the name Fears. Combining reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, Fears invites the listener on an ethereal journey, blurring the boundaries between music and visual art. Her minimalist approach centres on emotive subjects, which are all-at-once deeply personal yet remarkably universal.

Speakers:

Danielle Carragher is a Community Engagement Officer with NMNI working on the Making the Future Project. She has a background in Conflict Transformation with a specific focus on how music can transform conflict. Danielle has worked in Palestine, Colombia and Indonesia as well as the Netherlands and throughout the island of Ireland. She performs under the moniker of Dani Larkin and her upcoming debut album Notes For A Maiden Warrior is out on the 18th June 2021. This event is run in collaboration with Making the Future.

Jordan Adetunji, an alternative hip hop artist from Belfast, is breaking all the rules with his genre merging rap and R&B post punk feels. At such a young age, he is making waves locally and further afield. He is a nominee for the Urban Music Awards ‘One to Watch’ and has racked up well over 300,000 streams on Spotify alone. He has released videos on huge UK Platforms such as GRM Daily as well as Link Up TV and has been featured by the BBC performing many of his pieces. His style of music ranges from Afrobeat to Trap and heavy rock with some influences of soul and funk.

Sam Wickens is a mesmerising performer, gifted with the talent to arouse the soul with haunting melodies laced with poignant lyrics sung with his trademark transparency of spirit. Compared to Jeff Buckley, John Martyn, Death Cab For Cutie, Tom Waits, Sam is a soulful writer and performer with a restless creativity, conveying a personal blend of Electronic, Blues, Folk, and Indie. Consistently delivering on his reputation as a bewitching live performer.
