Love fashion, archives and history?
Join us for Textile Stories - an exciting four-week evening programme led by PRONI that will look at the intersection between textiles, archives and photo embroidery.
How will the programme work?
-- PRONI staff will showcase highlights from their Photographic Collections and discuss issues of preservation, conservation and accessibility
-- Roberta Bacic & Elsie Doolan will talk about Conflict Textiles as live and archival language
-- Gillian Lennox will explore the role of archives in Costume Research for the Lyric Theatre
-- Liz Cullinane will talk about Modernism, fashion and war
-- You will receive a personalised photo embroidery kit in the post and take part in a workshop with Kerri Todd to create your own postcard
-- You will engage with other participants through Zoom calls and share your work with each other through Slack
This programme is FREE and open to anyone based in Northern Ireland or border counties. No embroidery experience required.
The programme takes place from 6.30pm-8.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday on:
18 August, 20 August, 25 August, 27 August, 1 September, 3 September, 8 September and 10 September.
