Join the Women in the Archives Team in Belfast this January for a FREE programme and uncover the stories of women from the archives in The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI). PRONI holds thousands of personal diaries in its collections, many of which were written by women, and they offer an amazing personal insight into history and how it did (and didn’t!) impact everyday life. Through this programme we want to build an online, interactive timeline of history through women’s eyes.
During the programme you will:
• Go behind-the-scenes on a tour of PRONI
• Research and transcribe diaries from PRONI
• Interrogate history and choose quotes that make the timeline
• Develop skills in research and writing
• Leave your story for future generations.
No previous experience is required and the programme is open to anyone aged 16+. All genders are welcome.
This is a nine week course and availability to attend each session is required.
