Women In The Archives engagement programme begins

A community engagement programme for the Women in the Archives strand began at the Linen Hall Library on 8 November.

Over the course of the six-week programme, participants will visit and go behind the scenes at the Library and the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, researching some of the key female led stories in the archives.

A trip to the Ulster Museum and the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum will also uncover the histories of influential women and a specially delivered bus tour of Belfast will look at the impact of key female voices in the city over the last century.

Participants will then take part in some creative workshops to document and reveal what they have learned through the programme.

The initiative is led by staff at both Linen Hall Library and PRONI in advance of a joint exhibition at both venues that will launch in April 2019.
